Supported by the European Union under the CultureCIVIC: Culture and Arts Support Program, the Deng û Reng project will provide Kurmanci Kurdish dubbing training to 15 young people aged 14–18 living in Diyarbakır.🎙️✨
📌Through this project:
*Young participants will learn voice acting techniques from professional trainers and dub selected animation characters in Kurmanci.
*They will strengthen their sense of belonging to their mother tongue and take part in creative language workshops in Kurmanci, contributing to cultural production processes.
*The final works they produce will be presented to the public through an open screening event.
Four participants who successfully complete the training will continue their creative productions in their mother tongue in collaboration with Zarok TV!
UPDATE: 26 FEBRUARY 2026
We successfully completed the “Deng û Reng” Project with the participation of 15 children aged 10–18 in Diyarbakır.
Within the scope of the project, participants took part in comprehensive workshops and applied studio sessions on Kurdish dubbing and voice-over techniques, producing numerous original contents.
Following an intensive four-month training period, they came together at the closing event where three broadcast-ready animated/cartoon productions were presented to the audience.
In addition to the animations voiced by the children, the event also featured the launch of the “Nivîskaren Piçûk” (Little Writers) Children’s Story Magazine, created entirely from their own writings. Eight of the participants thought and wrote in their mother tongue, transforming their texts into a collective magazine publication.
Through the “Deng û Reng” Project, we once again witnessed that children’s participation in creative production in their mother tongue makes possible a sustainable arts and culture model that strengthens cultural engagement and pluralism.
