With the support of Zusa and Anadolu Kültür, the AmedRoots project (2026)
Implemented with the support of Zusa and Anadolu Kültür, the Amedroots project was designed as a new model enabling children to explore Kurdish culture and history through art-based and play-based learning methods.
In collaboration with the project’s international partner House from Slovenia, meetings were held for knowledge and experience exchange on the implementation of the treasure hunt methodology.
Through this approach, children actively participated in the learning process, gaining experiences in exploration, problem-solving, and collaborative creation. Within the scope of the project, children engaged with cultural heritage interactively through workshops and treasure hunt activities in the fields of music, theatre, and storytelling.
Throughout the project, three organizations worked with children within their respective areas of expertise:
Ma Music Center introduced children to the melodies and cultural stories of Kurdish music through music workshops and treasure hunt activities.
Amed City Theatre enabled children to experience Kurdish culture and history through theatre and drama practices, using performing arts as a creative learning tool.
Children First Association shared the tradition of oral storytelling through fairy tale workshops, organizing story-based exploration activities with children.
The Amedroots project combined the transformative power of art with play-based learning, offering a participatory learning experience that strengthened children’s cultural belonging, supported their creativity, and increased their cultural awareness.
