- Who is the child?
- Is it “our”?
- Or she/he is her/his own?
Children’s participation in decision-making is one of the basic principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. However, without examining child perception and child participation together, it becomes difficult to listen to children or increase their participation.
With this approach, Children First Association considers the current perception of children as us the “adults” and how we can strengthen child participation with the changes we will make in this perception.
Based on this need and necessity, we organize “Child Perception and Child Participation” trainings with the participation of our volunteers.
And as we talk and progress, we both remember our own childhoods and realize that the path and methods we are looking for are “not too far away”.
Many thanks to Özenç Kabasakal for her voluntary contributions to education and sharing her experience.
