The Children First Association organizes a fairy tale workshop in Diyarbakır with the participation of 15 children and 2 facilitators, which lasts 10 days, where 10 different fairy tales are told with an animation method.
At the end of the workshop, it is envisaged that the fairy tale “Pîrê and Rovî”, which is about the story of an old grandmother and a fox, will be staged in musical form.
The play, chosen in cooperation with the children, will be staged after intense rehearsals with the participation of “Amed City Theater” actors and “Ma Music Center” musicians.
Prepared in two dialects of Kurdish; Kurmancî and Kirmanckî/Zazakî, the musical meets the audience for the first time on June 9, 2019 with both Kurmancî and Kirmanckî/Zazakî dialects, at the Sur Children’s Festival.
The musical, which will have a total of 22 screenings, 19 screenings of Kurmancî and 3 screenings of Kirmanckî/Zazakî, transforms watching musicals in their mother tongue into an enjoyable activity for the children in Diyarbakır and Batman centers and villages.
It is planned that the play will continue to meet with children, even in 2020, in Amed City Theater‘s next-year-screening plannings.
